T’ai Chi-athon

For St Jude Children’s Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children who have cancer and other catastrophic diseases.  St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world.  No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.  St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fund-raising organization.  In 1962, when the hospital opened, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common form of childhood leukemia, was only survived by five percent of their patients: the current rate is now 80%.  For more information, please visit www.stjude.org.

Our 5th Annual T’ai Chi-athon was a big success.   We collected just over $1300 for St Jude’s.  Justin Phillips came over to lead a discussion on Acupuncture and lead us thru basics of Ba gua, another internal style of martial arts.  Everyone had a great time and learned a little bit more about T’ai Chi, and got to share their T’ai Chi.

So everyone look for an announcement of the

6th Annual T’ai Chi-athon coming in 2010.
